TEHRAN -- Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) said that in order to deter attacks by Turkish troops and establish peace and security in northern Iraq, it is ready to cooperate with Jalal Talebani and Masoud Barezani, the PKK Radio quoted a member of the PKK Leadership Council, Osman Ocalan, as saying on Monday.

The radio further quoted him as saying that the PKK is also ready to hold a tripartite meeting with the leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK ) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

The Turkish invasion of northern Iraq is the most serious threat against Kurds, the leadership council member stressed and posed the question that while Turkey is not able to settle the Kurdish issue in its own territory, how it is going to do so in the Iraqi Kurdistan.

The radio further quoted Ocalan as saying that it is clear from its policies that Ankara has no intention of solving the kurdish issue peacefully and only intends to suppress the Turkish Kurds.

Ocalan termed the Iranian policy toward Kurds as constructive and said if the Kurdish parties act within the framework of Iran's policy, achieving a just peace will be possible.
